Michael Terry Asnicar, 75 of Idabel, passed away March 21, 2021 at Hugo, Oklahoma. He was born December 6, 1945 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Merle and Vadah Asnicar.
Michael grew up in the Denver Metro area and worked hard his whole life. Throughout his life he lived many places and they were all considered “home”. He eventually settled in Idabel around 2000 to be near his daughter and grandchildren. He was free spirited, he loved people and people loved him. He was a jovial fella, in fact, as long as he had a little money in his pocket, a hat on his head and white tennis shoes on his feet, he was doing “just fine”. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, it took him most places he needed to go and if that couldn’t get him there, Little Dixie could. It was always the little things that made the biggest impact in Mike’s life. He never met a stranger and made a habit of spending his mornings at the Gemini Coffee Shop…”shooting the bull” with the guys, and his Friday nights at Warrior Stadium. He loved music and could quote nearly all the lyrics to any song.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Marcy and Ricky Denison of Idabel; grandchildren, Rachel and Eric Reeves of New Orleans and Jacob Denison of Idabel and three great-grandchildren, Zoe Lynn, Sophia Margaret and Karys Ann Reeves; as well as two sisters, Shirley Asnicar and Phyllis and brother-in-law Frank Lechuga all of Denver, Colorado along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Patrick Asnicar.
A private gathering will take place in Colorado at a later date to carry out Michael’s final wishes.
