Michael Clepper, 69 of Idabel, passed away October 2, 2020 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. He was born February 5, 1951, the son of Teddy and Mary Ebbs. He graduated from Idabel Gray Hight School in 1969. He obtained an Associates of Arts Degree from Eastern Oklahoma State University. He was a welder by trade having been in the industry for thirty years. He married Debbie Austin on October 31, 1996.
He was a member of the Idabel Masonic Lodge since 1987, serving for thirty-three years and was a Master Mason.
Michael was a straight-forward man. He was a bit rough around the edges but purely kind-hearted on the inside. He was witty and always good for a laugh or joke. He loved his family dearly and his bird dog, Max. He enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, and loved his job as a welder.
Michael is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Debbie Clepper; sons, James Perry “J.P.” Clepper of Idabel; step-son, Matthew Thornton and wife, Casey of Round Rock, Texas; brother, Robert “Bobby” Clepper of Idabel; numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Teddy Clepper; maternal grandparents, Ted and Effie Ebbs; paternal grandparents, James Derry Clepper and Doroty Stell Tidwell.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2020 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2020 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Mark Polson officiating. Interment will follow in the Canfield Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Idabel Masonic Lodge in memory of Michael in lieu of flowers.
