Mitchell Caleb Frey was born in the McCurtain Memorial Hospital at Idabel on May 31, 1993, the son of Dr. Walt and Melinda Frey. He was raised in Idabel, graduated from Idabel High School in 2012, earned his Bachelor Degree in Business from Oklahoma State University in 2016, and had lived in Oklahoma City for the past 9 years.
Mitch loved his work as an insurance adjuster at Braum’s Headquarters in Oklahoma City, football, video games, traveling, attending OSU Homecoming every year and football game days in Stillwater, but he especially loved being with his family and friends. Mitch had the best sense of humor and a great smile and laugh that instantly warmed your heart. He was the greatest son, brother, nephew, grandson, cousin and best friend anyone could have asked for.
Mitch was diagnosed with cancer on December 4, 2023, and fought until the morning of June 30, 2024. He was surrounded by family, in his sister’s and brother-in-law’s home.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Walt and Melinda Frey; grandfather, Ralph Mitchell; and uncle, William Russell Mitchell.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Emily and Dr. Lance Forshee of Northwest Arkansas; aunt, Carla Mitchell of Tom, Oklahoma; grandmother, Ramona Mitchell of Tom, Oklahoma; aunt and uncle, Michele and Gene Summerlin of Fairfax Station, Virginia; cousins, Katy Summerlin and Jon Baron of Alexandria, Virginia; special family friends and family, Billy Don Sikes, Christal Prince and Bo Slider, Brad Morse and Dr. Gretchen Adams, Russel and Debbie Scott, Bryan Morrison and many friends.
A private family service will be held at Tom Cemetery.
