Patricia Sue Kolb
July 17, 1958 ~ April 26, 2023 (age 64) 64 Years Old
Patricia Sue Kolb, 64 of Idabel, passed away April 26, 2023 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital.
Joe and Patricia Kolb shared a life of love together and were destined not to be apart for long. Joe Kolb passed away on March 26 th , 2023. Patricia Kolb was called to heaven on April 26 th , 2023. Joe and Patricia were married in the spring, and after 47 years, they departed together in the spring.
Joe and Patricia were born in Idabel, Oklahoma, where they spent their lives serving their community together. Joe spent 30 years protecting and serving McCurtain County as a member of the police force in numerous positions, beginning as a Patrol Officer in Broken Bow and then a Park Ranger in Hochatown. During this time, he also served as a Tribal Police Officer for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Upon retiring from his Lieutenant Detective position in Idabel, Joe continued to serve in the Police Force as the Police Officer in Charge for McCurtain Memorial Hospital, and then Campus Officer for the Idabel High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Idabel Campus.
Patricia’s heart for service began with her father, who cared for his community by selling quality shoes.
As a young woman, Patricia knew the importance of providing a quality product and followed in her
father’s footsteps by becoming a saleswoman. This instilled a foundation of support and care that she
continued when she was chosen to establish a school-aged childcare facility. She provided essential
safety and quality after-school care for students to allow parents in her community to finish their
Joe loved fishing, woodworking, target shooting, and reading. Patricia was an avid reader, collector, and
enjoyed spending time completing arts and crafts. Most of all, Joe and Patricia enjoyed spending time
with family and friends.
Joe and Patricia are survived by their loving son, Paul, daughter-in-law, Mary, and friend and neighbor
Joe is survived by his niece Barbara, nephews John Junior and Mike, cousins Betty Jane, Lue, and Sue,
and best friend Dan.
Patricia is survived by her mother Wilda, sister Paula, nieces Jamie and Sandy, cousins Tommy, Herman,
Gary, and Sandra, and best friend Renee.
A celebration of their life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2023 at the Hochatown Cemetery
with Pastor Mark Jardine officiating.
