Patsy Shankles

Patsy Jean Shankles, 83, of Idabel, Oklahoma, passed away on May 12, 2025, in Idabel. She was
born on February 24, 1942, to John Allen Green and Dona Jane (Jones) Green.
Patsy was a woman of deep faith and unwavering dedication to her family. She married the love
of her life, Harold Shankles, on June 11, 1960, and they shared a joyful marriage until his
passing in 2012. Together, they owned and operated a backhoe and septic business beginning in
1972, working side by side for many years.
Patsy was a talented quilter, known for creating beautiful, handmade quilts. She also loved
traveling and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she lovingly raised following the
passing of their mother in 2002. Her greatest joys were her church, her family, and the life she
built with Harold.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Dona Green; her husband, Harold Shankles;
her daughter, Carol Shankles; her brothers, Coy Green and Troy Green; and her sister, Joann
Leitka.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved grandchildren, Jonathan Wagner of Broken Bow,
OK, and Jared Wagner of Idabel, OK; her sisters, Sadie Higgins and husband Monte of
Albuquerque, NM, and Barbara Williams and husband Bob of Durant, OK; along with numerous
extended family members and friends.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Clardy Funeral
Service Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2025,
at Denison Cemetery Pavilion with Bro. Don Myer officiating.
