Raymond Ray Magby, Sr., 78 of Haworth, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018. Ray, the son of Lois and Eva Magby was born July 20, 1939 at Valliant, Oklahoma.
Ray was a veteran of the United States Navy and received the Good Conduct Award. He was a rifle marksman and pistol expert. He retired after thirty-three years from Georgia Pacific as a Paper Machine Quality Technician.
Ray was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an avid sports fan, especially of football and baseball and he loved coaching little league when he was younger.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons and daughters-in-law, Robin and Sherrie Magby of Haworth, Raymond (Babe) and Victoria Magby of the Goodwater Community; sister, Margie Keel of Pharr, Texas; half-brothers, Sammy Meers and Jimmy Meers; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Eva Magby; wife, Nelda Joe Magby; sons, Rodney Magby and Shawn Magby; siblings, Mildred Ridge, Wiley Magby, Nedra Dodson and Brenda O’rand.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2018 at the Philadelphia Cemetery in the Goodwater Community with Pastor Mark Davidson officiating.
