Rhonda Sue Pogue

Rhonda Sue Pogue, age 72, of Idabel, Oklahoma, passed away on May 14, 2025, in
Durant, Oklahoma. She was born on February 17, 1953, in Monticello, Arkansas,
to Virgle Kegley and Wanda (Davis) Kegley.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Virgle Kegley
Jr.
She was a member of Tom Baptist Church. Despite being legally blind, Rhonda
had a remarkable talent for crafting.S he especially enjoyed making afghans and
knitting baby clothes. She was also known for her strong business sense and sharp
intellect. Rhonda graduated as valedictorian of Haworth High School with straight
A’s and later attended cosmetology school. Rhonda was many things, but most
importantly she was an amazing mother.
She is survived by the love of her life, James Melvin Pogue, to whom she married
on December 16, 1982. She is also survived by her son, Brian Whisenhunt; her
daughter, Miranda Reese and husband Jerad; her sister, Virginia Patton; seven
grandsons, which she loved dearly; and numerous other family members, friends,
and loved ones who will miss her dearly.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday,
May 18, 2025, at Clardy Funeral Service Chapel. A Celebration of Life service
will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, also at Clardy Funeral
Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Denison Cemetery, with John Draper
officiating.
