Ricky Kennybrew Obituary

Ricky Donnell Kennybrew was born on December 8, 1986 to parents, Barbara Evette Kennybrew and
Ricky Earl Dixon at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma.
On this day, Saturday, November 4, 2023, Ricky “POPPA” departed his life here on earth. His guardian
angel softly whispered, Ricky, my son, Our Almighty Father is now waiting for you with open arms at the
Heavenly Pearly Gates because your mission here on earth is COMPLETED! “JOB WELL DONE MY KING”.
Preceding him in death was Ricky Earl Dixon (father), Darnell Dunlap Dixon (paternal grandmother) H.
Waddell and Joe Eva Waddell (great-grandparents) and Floyd Dixon (uncle).
In remembrance of our dear loved one Ricky D. Kennybrew who was not only a proud FATHER, PAWPAW
to be to his very first granddaughter, loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin and true friend to
many. Ricky was loved and most definitely will be missed tremendously. Ricky had the cutest smile that
would brighten the entire room. He had a heart of gold, perseverance and loved unconditionally. Ricky
wasn’t perfect and never claimed to be. He had his share of faults in life as we all do but he learned to
accept his wrong-doing and wanted change not only for himself but for his children and loved ones. He
may have left us too soon without letting his loved ones know how much he cared and loved you. Ricky
had a warm heart, would give you the shirt off his back and would go out of his way to lend a helping
hand because that’s how much he cared for everyone. Ricky mainly enjoyed spending time with his
children, family and friends. Ricky most definitely had his own unique type of style about himself. He
had a great sense of humor and was determined to achieve his goals. Ricky loved to sing, dance, hang
out with family and especially eat, workout, watch his favorite football team, the 49er’s and most
definitely travel because that was his peace.
At an early age, as a small child, Ricky developed interest in sports. He loved track and field and football.
Ricky attended grade school but didn’t complete his high school year. He later achieved his GED in
2005. Ricky was a man of all trades and there was never a job he couldn’t do. In 2020 he received his
electrical license. Ricky’s dream in life was to someday own his own electrical service but his journey in
life ended too soon. Although Ricky wanted to own his own electrical company, the one thing he did
was create his own dictionary of words that we will forever live by to keep his memory alive. Which
was….”On me, That way, That part and Alreadii.”
Ricky is survived by his grandmother, Lola F. Kennybrew (Idabel, OK); grandfather, MacArthur Dixon
(Idabel, OK); mother, Barbara E. Kennybrew (Lawton, OK); children, Kealon Kennybrew, Kamden Rogers
