Ronald Neal Hignight, of Idabel, passed away with his family by his side on January 31, 2022 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital, Idabel. Ron was born June 4, 1960, in Muskogee, OK, to Clevas and JoAnn (Bond) Hignight. He was united in marriage to Susan Darlene Dunning on June 27, 1980.
Ronny loved the Lord and loved his church family. He was a faithful member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. He loved to read and he loved to play board games with his family. A longtime family tradition at Christmas featured his sausage gravy, along with cheese biscuits. A favorite highlight was an extended vacation to Georgia and Florida.
Ronny was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Thomas and Marcie Dunning.
Ronny is survived by his loving wife, Susan, of the home; daughters, Kate Elizabeth Mattair, and husband Bryan of Plant City, FL, and Sarah Ann Hignight of the home; sister, Joyce Anne Hignight, of Texarkana, AR; brother, Grant Hignight and wife Yolonda, of Thomasville, GA; grandson, Joseph Lane Mattair, of Plant City, FL; two nephews, six nieces; two great nephews and one great niece.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Ryan Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Broken Bow, OK. Visitation will be on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be designated to Chuck Fernandez, missionary to Africa, in care of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Idabel.
