Ronald Paul Shade, 55, of Idabel, passed away peacefully at his home on May 10, 2026. Born
on March 4, 1971, in Denver, Ron lived a life defined by determination, curiosity, and an
entrepreneurial spirit.
Ron spent much of his early life traveling between Colorado and Southern California, where his
grandparents played an influential role during his upbringing. As a young teenager, he
competed professionally in jet ski and BMX racing, pursuits that reflected the competitive drive
and fearless determination that remained with him throughout his life.
A hardworking and ambitious entrepreneur, Ron built and managed several successful
businesses, including a steel framing company, a moving and transportation company, and real
estate rental properties. Ron was known for sharing business ideas, offering practical advice,
and providing encouragement and support to family and friends. He was someone others could
depend on in life’s challenges and had a remarkable ability to stay connected and show up
when needed most.
Ron enjoyed worldwide travel throughout Europe, Asia, South America, and even lived in
Thailand for several years. His open-minded nature, genuine curiosity, and sociable personality
allowed him to form lasting friendships throughout his travels and to connect easily with people
from many different cultures. Back at home, Ron enjoyed a peaceful day at the lake or just time
to tinker on his trucks and machines.
Ron will be remembered for his determination, generosity, entrepreneurial spirit, and the lasting
impact he made on all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna (Kungl) Shade and Paul Eugene Shade. He
was their only child.
He is survived by his loving wife, Darby Lindsey.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Baracker and the Kiamichi-Idabel family for their
loving care during Ron’s final months, and to Elara Caring Hospice for their kindness, support,
and compassionate care.
Ron leaves behind a legacy of hard work, resilience, and steadfast support. His memory will live
on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Clardy Funeral Service.
