Sandra Jane Rice

Sandra Jane "Janie" (Carrell) Rice was born on November 18, 1955 in Clarksville, TX, the daughter of John Franklin Carrell and Pauline Louise (Hudgins) Carrell.  She went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2024 in McKinney, TX at the age of 68 years.  Janie is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene Carrell, James Carrell, and Roger Carrell; sisters, Shirley Franks, and Bonnie Staggs.

Janie was very tenderhearted.  She always put other people before herself.  Janie loved to travel and loved the ocean.  She loved her family and was extremely close to all of her siblings. Janie especially loved her daughter, Shelly.  She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Janie is survived by her daughter, Shelly Guthrie and husband Kim of Valliant, OK; brothers, Donnie Carrell and wife Gladys of Haworth, OK, and Sonny Carrell of Clarksville, TX; sisters, Christine Carrell and husband Jack of Clarksville, TX, Judy Rice of McAlester, OK, and Jewel Richardson of Haworth, OK; grandchildren, Jordan Guthrie and wife Kala, and Morgan Guthrie; along with numerous other family members and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel in Idabel.  Interment will follow in the Haworth Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel.
