Sarah Annette Mitchell, 57 of the Forest Hill area, passed away February 15, 2024 at Texarkana, Texas.
She was born December 4, 1966 at Idabel, Oklahoma, the daughter of Travis and Betty Jamerson
Bastible. She married Marshal Mitchell on January 29, 2007 at DeQueen, Arkansas.
A Licensed Practical Nurse, Sarah had worked many areas of the nursing field including nursing homes
and home health, however, she found her true gift caring for hospice patients and their families. She
was genuine and compassionate, but also outspoken. In her free time she enjoyed hunting and fishing,
quilting, playing softball and riding horses. Her grandbabies were her world and she loved her family
deeply.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Marshal Mitchell; son, Travis Diemer; daughter, Tabatha Mitchell and
spouse, James Cornwall; brother, Jimmy Bastible; sister, Bridget Bond and husband Chris; grandchildren,
Masyn, Madisyn, and Makalyn Archie, Hunter and Tanner Mitchell, Elizabeth, Kolton, Jonah, Kamren,
Jessie, and Scotty Diemer; great-grandson, Westin Bray; special friends, Jackie Stuart and Sherri Taylor;
numerous other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Clardy
Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Robert Dodds officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill
Cemetery in the Forest Grove Community.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel from 6:00 to
8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First State Bank of Valliant, in care of Julie Condon and
Jimmy Bastible to assist with funeral expenses.
