Stanley Pewitt, 71 of the Shinewell Community, passed away May 3, 2022 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. He was born October 10, 1950. He married Deloise on June 18, 2007 at DeQueen, Arkansas.
First and foremost a Christian, Stanley was a devoted husband and provider. Before coming to the Lord, Stan led a different kind of life and wasn’t shy about sharing his testimony. After making that revelation, he helped many wayward souls sober up and change their lives in the process by hosting AA meetings and serving as a sponsor.
Stan would go out of his way to tell his wife that he loved her. He loved his great-grandbabies, especially taking them for four-wheeler rides around the place.
Stan was a master carpenter by trade and ever the perfectionist. He was a work-a-holic, most recently enjoying sharpening saw blades. His most recent venture was a custom saw blade sharpening service.
Stan enjoyed joking and cutting up with folks. He loved being outdoors and growing a beautiful garden big enough for all to enjoy. It was hard to stop by and not catch him working outside or tinkering on something in the shop.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, infant son, son-in-law, Wayne Loucks, and aunt, Joyce Simpson.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Deloise Pewitt of the home; daughter, Janet Loucks of the Shinewell Community; grandson, Tony Loucks and wife, Marie of Haworth; great-grandbabies, Mae and Miles Loucks; brother, Larry Pewitt and wife Terri of Lawton; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel in Idabel. Interment will follow in the Redland Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Friday, May 6, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel.
