Steven Michael Norris

Steven “Steve” Norris, 51 of Idabel, passed away May 9, 2021.  He was born May 11, 1969, the son of Freida and Henry Norris. 

Steve grew up in McCurtain County.  He was a 1988 graduate of Broken Bow High School and moved to Idabel in 1993 after marrying Jamie Hill.

With a heart for his community and volunteering, Steve became a volunteer firefighter for the Garvin Fire Department in June of 2001 and, also volunteered for the Holly Creek Fire Department before beginning his volunteer service with the Idabel Fire Department where he retired not long ago.  

Steve loved his family and friends and loved spending time with them.

Steve is survived by his wife, Jamie Ann Norris; daughter, Elizabeth Cheyenne Norris of Idabel; sons, Steven Michael Norris, Jr. of Idabel and Jesse Phipps of Wright City; father, Henry L. Norris of Idabel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Janie Norris of Pittsburg, Texas and Joe and Tamina Norris of Oklahoma City; sister and brother-in-law, Christina and Tracy Harris of Idabel; father-in-law, James Hill and wife Alene of Idabel; brother-in-law, John Sewell and wife Bambi of Ketchum, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Patricia Frady and husband, Bobby of Idabel; 2 grandsons; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Freida Norris and mother-n-law, Ann D. Sewell.

Family will receive friends Thursday May 13, 2021 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel, followed with a firefighter farewell ceremony at 7:00 p.m.
