Steven DeShay Jenkins Obituary

Steven DeShay “Shay” Jenkins, 39 of Broken Bow, passed away on February 14, 2024 at Broken Bow,
Oklahoma. He was born June 11, 1984 to Tammy and Steve Jenkins.
Shay or “Shaybo” as many lovingly called him, was a big kid with an even bigger heart. He was a
protector to everyone but especially his sister and his mom. He and Kamber could argue and fuss and
that was okay but should anyone else even think of doing or saying anything about either of them the
fight was on. Shay absolutely loved the kids, and at any family gathering that is where you would find
him, playing with the kids. Whether it was playing video games, air soft guns, riding the side by side or
even playing hiding seek that is where he would be. Shay had a giving heart. If he had $1 to his name, he
would share it with anyone who wanted or needed it. He loved collecting knives and was an avid knife
thrower. You could often find him in the back yard practicing knife throwing at the targets he had set up.
He also collected old bows and had recently started collecting coins. He was so proud of the coins he
had already collected and would send pictures of his most recent coin to his mom almost every evening.
Shay loved to BBQ. At any family gathering he would take over the grill and the outcome would always
be some amazing food.
Shay is survived by his father, Steve Jenkins of Broken Bow; mother and step-father, Tammy and Mike
Irvin of Hugo; sisters and brother-in-law, Kamber and Jeremy Batchelor and their children Kamden and
Braylon, Baylee and Colton Richards and their children Stetson, Lawson, and Allison, Kisha and Robert
Williams and their children Kynli and Ace’Leigh; sister, Chelsey Shankles and her son Michael; brother
and sister-in-law, Cannon and Kassie Jenkins and their children Hayden, Hadlie, Kashlynn, Kadynn,
Karlee, Bentley, and Ridge; brother, Manny Irvin; grandmothers Maxine Needham, Evelyn Coffman and
Linda Irvin; numerous other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otis and Juanita Jenkins, Thurman Coffman; and brother,
