Verna Charlene Carter

Verna Charlene Carter, age 81, passed away peacefully Saturday February 20. 2021 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.  

She was born June 4, 1939 to Charlie Kirkley and Lorene McSwain Kirkley in Center, Texas. 

She owned and operated Leon’s Used Cars in Idabel for many years.  She enjoyed sitting on her porch and visiting with neighbors at Alpaca Ranch, plus playing bingo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James Dennis and husband, Leon Carter. 

She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Diana Rudisill and husband, Tommy of Broken Bow and Linda Gossett and husband, Randy Blakeney of DeKalb, Texas; sons, Tony Dennis and wife Carla of Gilmer, Texas and Charles (Mickey) Dennis of Quitman, Texas; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Darrell Kirkley and wife, Judy of Dallas, Texas and Bill Kirkley and wife, Beckle of Gilmer, Texas; numerous other relatives and friends.

A private memorial service will be hosted at a later time.
