Virginia Durden

Virginia Lee "Toog" Durden, age 86, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, OK.  She was born on October 9, 1933 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Georgia (Avery) and Lee Brewster.

Virginia was united in marriage to Raymond Durden in the year 1950.  The couple lived many years in Florida, Trinidad, and Arkansas.  Virginia relocated to Oklahoma to be near her aunt, Margaret Shelton, after the passing of her husband.

Virginia spent her professional life as a bookkeeper for the Montgomery Ward Company in Little Rock, Arkansas. 

Virginia loved reading western novels, traveling with her friends, and an occasional trip to the casino. She made many wonderful memories on her adventures with her friends and special niece, Freida.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Charles (Buddy) Brewster. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her nephews, David, Darren, Eric, and Craig Brewster.  She is also survived by special cousins, Max Shelton, Jane Peek, Freida Harley, and Sue Short and a host of relatives and friends.   She also leaves a special friend, Billie Jo Brewster with whom she shared many memories and adventures.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to caregivers, Elonda Whitmore and Lana Hughes.  

Graveside services will be held on July 29th at the Avery Cemetery in Hot Springs, Arkansas.  Services will begin at 10 a.m. with Myron Short officiating.
