Wallace Tushka Obituary

Wallace Tushka of Idabel, OK was born May 13, 1947 in Broken Bow, OK.  He is the son of Austin Levi Tushka and Velma Lee (Ontaiyabbi) Roberts.  Wally passed from this life on September 7, 2020 in Texarkana, Texas. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jimmy Tushka, Walton Tushka, Austin Wayne Tushka; and two sisters, Norma Jean Tushka and Ada Wilson.   

Wallace is survived by two brothers, Ernest Tushka and wife Artina of Idabel, OK and Gary Tushka and wife Adrienne of Midwest City, OK; sisters, Esther Davis of Dallas, TX, Glenda Skeet of Glenn Heights, TX and Verna John and husband Tommy of Arlington, TX; stepfather, William Roberts of Arlington, TX; uncle, Larry Jones of Broken Bow, OK; and a host of nephews and nieces.   

Wallace attended and graduated from Crozier Technical High School in Dallas, Texas.  He attended and graduated from barber school and completed course work for Color Coded Medical Billing.  He pursued a career as a hair stylist working throughout the city of Dallas for over 20 years.   

Wally became an avid bowler and competed in bowling leagues in the Dallas metro area as well as traveling for bowling tournaments in the state of Texas and Oklahoma.   

He loved beading and creating art works of beadwork. His beadwork was showcased in competitions at the Choctaw Nation Festival in Tuskahoma, OK.  He was often called upon to provide beaded regalia for Choctaw Nation princesses’ traditional wear.   

He will fondly be remembered as “Uncle Wally”.   

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel with Gary Tushka officiating.  Interment will follow in the Kulli Chito Cemetery, Broken Bow, Oklahoma.   

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel.  

In lieu of flowers, family request that donations be made to the funeral home to assist in paying his final expenses.
