Willard Darrell Buzan

Willard Darrell “Buzzy” Buzan passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born June 8, 1936 at Henrietta, Oklahoma, the son of Willard Leonard Buzan and Mabel Josephine Averit Buzan. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, David Buzan.
 

Known lovingly by many as “Buzzy” and “Music Man,” Darrell will be remembered for his love of music, his strong spirit, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. He was a man who carried stories, laughter, and songs with him wherever he went, leaving memories that his family and friends will treasure forever. He was a beloved community member and was awarded Idabel Citizen of the Year in 1992. Because of his deep love for the school and his lasting commitment to the students of Idabel High School, the high school auditorium was name after him.

Darrell was a devoted father, grandfather, family man, and friend. His love for his family was constant, and the legacy he leaves behind lives on through the generations he helped shape with his guidance, humor, and heart.
 

He is survived by his loving family which includes his spouse, Sharon Buzan; children, Giela Williams, JoDee Clark and spouse Michael Richbourg, Gina Segraves, Guy Buzan and spouse Jenna; grandchildren, Jay Martin (Lindsey), Justin Martin (Susan), Aaron Williams, Cameron Clark (Maria), Tanner Clark (Angeline Bergeron), Zane Davey (Bria), Garyt Segraves (Cheyenne), Michael Shane Buzan (Erica), Shalee Buzan, Kaitlyn Buzan, Justin Buzan (Amanda), Melody Cox (Jimmy), Whitney Jones (Billy), Tanner Richbourg, Jennifer Wagnon (Darren); numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Chancey and husband Mike; three Buzan cousins; other extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and presence.

Though deeply missed, Darrell’s memory will continue on through every familiar song, every shared story, and every moment that reminds his family of the love he gave so freely.
 

A celebration of life honoring Willard Darrell “Buzzy” Buzan will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Buzan home. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of his life.
