William "Willie" Gay

William “Willie” Daniel Gay, 39 of Idabel, passed away November 20, 2021.  He was born June 29, 1982 in Palm Springs, California.  

Willie’s family moved to Idabel from California in 1993. He was a 2000 graduate of Idabel High School.  He was actively involved in band and football and was Prom King his senior year.   He was a friend to all.  He was very loving, sweet, funny and loved to hug.  Some of his favorite hobbies were family gatherings and going shopping.  He really enjoyed going to the lake and spending time on the houseboat.

Willie is survived by his mother and best friend, Jacquelyn Dixon of Idabel; brothers, Jesse Gay of Idabel, Corey Gay and Lauren Burns of Hochatown; nieces, Gracie Gay and Allie Gay; uncle, Ted Dixon and Jenny Johnson of New Zealand; aunt, Martyne Van Hofwegen of San Clemente, California; numerous cousins, other relatives and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Gay in 2019 and his grandparents.

Family will host a private memorial gathering at a later date.
