Willie Roden

Willie R. Roden, 76 of Idabel, passed away June 10, 2023 at Idabel, Oklahoma. He was born February 19,
1947 at home in the Mt. Zion Community, Oklahoma. He married Rae Roden on October 18, 1974 at
Alvin, Texas.
Willie enjoyed his work operating heavy equipment such as track hoes and road graders and operated
his own business for quite some time. He also worked as a truck driver. Some may remember him as
“Slat”. He enjoyed fishing in his free time.
Willie is survived by his wife, Rae of the home; son, Shannon Roden of Idabel; two grandsons, Jesse and
Hayden Roden both of Idabel; special friends, Wayne Pond and Michael Storey; numerous nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Smith.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the Clardy Funeral
Service Chapel.
Private interment will be held Thursday.
